All our libraries will be closed on Monday 20 January for Wellington Anniversary Day. Our eLibrary resources, eg Libby, will continue to be available.

There is a NZ wide outage with access to LinkedIn Learning. We've reported the issue to our vendor and hope to have it resolved soon.

Kurapae - Kurapae

Tired of waiting in long reserve queues for the most popular books? Our Kurapae collection ("Treasure found by chance") consists of highly in-demand book titles that cannot be reserved.

How does it work?

  • Kurapae titles are free to borrow
  • Kurapae titles are available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • You may borrow two Kurapae titles at a time for two weeks
  • Kurapae titles cannot be renewed or reserved

If you have an existing reserve on one of the Kurapae titles you have borrowed, then please ask one of our friendly librarians about cancelling your hold. This both frees up the item for other patrons in the queue, and avoids a non-collection charge for a book you have read!

Please return the items on time so other patrons can enjoy these titles too!

Where can I find them?

The Kurapae collection is located in five branch libraries:
