Early closing

Arapaki Manners (CBD) will close early at 5.00pm today, Friday 20 September, due to staff availability. The library will be open again on Monday.

Tech Time

Enter a whole new world of robotics, electronics, coding and VR with Tech Time, our after-school club for budding scientists and technologists of all ages!

Two Spheros (spherical robots with transparent external panelling so you can see the circuitry inside) sit next to a Makey Makey kit, a programmable microcomputer that can be connected to real-world objects using alligator clips.

Join us at the library for Tech Time: Play or Tech Time: Inspire – our two after-school clubs where tamariki and rangatahi can learn about new digital technologies in a hands-on and creative way.

Tech Time: Play sessions are for ages 5+, and do not require registrations. At Tech Time: Play, you will have the chance to experiment with a range of technologies, from coding a small robot to building an electronic circuit, with new things to explore each week.

Tech Time: Inspire sessions are for ages 8 – 13, and registrations are required. At Tech Time: Inspire, you will first explore a range of different technologies, and then choose one to do a 'deep dive' on, completing more complex projects under the guidance of our expert librarians.

During Tech Time, tamariki must be accompanied by their caregivers.

Our regular schedule is presented below, but you can always check our event calendar for the most up-to-date times and locations.
