This is a free event. Please note we expect this event to be very popular and seating will be on a first come first served basis.

The evening promises to be a totally unmissable treat and is sure to feature wide-ranging conversations on a whole host of topics and subjects, with a quintet of award-winning Kiwi storytellers, ranging across page and screen, fiction and non-fiction, short stories and novels.

About our Panellists

We feel very lucky to be host to this wonderful panel:

  • Dame Fiona Kidman is a Pōneke literary gem, aclaimed author and past Ngaios Best Novel and Ockhams / Acorn Prize winner
  • Tina Makereti is a Commonwealth Short Story Prize winning writer and novelist, and 2025 Ockhams longlisted author
  • David white is an award-winning filmmaker and true crime writer
  • Claire Baylis is the 2024 recipient of the Ngaios award for Best First Novel

This event will be chaired by Ngaios Best Novel winner and Ockhams shortlisted author Brannavan Gnanalingam.
