Nefarious Newtown: Mystery in the Library author talk 11 April

By Neil

Join us for a criminally good Ngaio Marsh Awards event with a stunning panel of crime and thriller writers at Newtown Library on Friday 11 April.

Our outstanding guests include:

Carl Shuker, Jennifer Lane, 'Jennifer Palgrave' aka LGBTQIA+ co-writing couple Lois Cox and Hilary Lapsley, and Helen Vivienne Fletcher.

WHEN: Friday 11th April, 6pm

WHERE: Newtown Library, 13 Constable Street, Wellington

This is a free event!

Please note: we expect this event to be very popular and seating will be on a first come, first served basis.

About the panelists:

  • Carl Shuker is the highly acclaimed author of several novels, including A Mistake (now a major film starring Elizabeth Banks) and The Royal Free. ( longlisted for this year's Ockhams best fiction award)
  • Jennifer Lane is a two-time Ngaio Marsh Awards winner, including 2024 Best-Kids YA prize (her books include All our Secrets, Miracle, Dark Deeds Down Under 2).
  • 'Jennifer Palgrave', aka LGBTQIA+ co-writing couple Lois Cox and Hilary Lapsley, are the authors of the Lauren Fraser mystery series (which includes Rising Tide and Where the River Goes).

This event will be chaired by multi award-winning playwright and past Ngaio's finalist Helen Vivienne Fletcher (whose works include Broken Silence and being a contributor to Dark Deeds Down Under)

The evening promises to be a fun, fascinating and interesting conversation and features a great mix of 'Mystery in the Library' veterans.
